Just had a JM marathon and got meself up to date. Yeah, Volume 9 is definitely the strongest set of episodes yet - although I wasn't aware that episode 56 was essentially a "reset" episode. I had several moments of "Hang on! Who the hell's that?" Incidentally, does anyone else think that Vonda's introduction was just plain weird? First we get visual references and throwaway comments about her arrival, then we get to see her hat(!), then we only see her from a high angle... An interesting way of keeping the viewer curious, I guess. A bit bewildering though!

Yes, and there is another trick scene where we are meant to think that Stefan is actually chatting to Vanda and we are going to see her, and then the camera pans round to reveal it is actually Rebecca.
It's actually quite a hyped appearance which one could understand if it was some major film star appearing in the role - exactly what EastEnders might do now if they ever announced that Nicole Kidman was joining the cast.
I quote like it, but it is a bit bewildering. Maybe Caroline Redl was huge in Germany or something...

Hello and welcome aboard.
Unfortunately the DVD releases have halted for the moment, so I am afraid we won't see them in the forseeable future.
But, if I may ask, do you have any memories about working on the series that you would be willing to post here?

Yes, I don't mind sharing a few memories. I got the part as one of the "Brazilians" from my agent through the modelling agency that I worked for in Nottingham. (Also worked on Boon, Price is Right and a pilot show called "What a planet" with Dan Akroyd) It was 3 days work, still got the invoice for the job( which I have just got down from the loft!) I worked on Jupiter Moon on the 12, 19 and 21st of June 1990. I was only an extra, so as an extra I hadn't got a clue what the plot was about, I was given no script, so I was just told what to do and how to look.(I wasn't an actress, so I done my best...lol!) It was great fun but also very boring at times. I remember having a few chats with Peter Polycarpou as we were sat waiting to film on set. Also chatting with the other "Brazilians", I shared a dressing room with the other female "Brazilian", so we had some great chats together( I think, if I remember right, she was from another modelling agency). But I was also bored in that dressing room(that seemed new and quite plush)for we were in there quite some time waiting for a runner to come and get us. I remember being on set(mostly in the bar area) and eating the props! Lol! They had nuts in bowls on the table(very space aged..Lol) and when I was sat there for ages waiting for lighting and cameras to be sorted out, I did tend to get slightly bored so I started munching on the props! Which I'm sure wasn't allowed.(Well I am a Taurus-who like their food!). I didn't have BSB back then, so I never saw Jupiter Moon and hadn't a clue what it was all about, apart from it being in outerspace. So this Saturday I got the DVD through the post, off the net. I knew what episode I was on because it was the one with Peter Polycarpou in it. So I haven't actually watched a whole episode, just flicked through it on Saturday to see what parts of it I was in( if any, because for all I knew, they could have cut my parts out!) So to my delight I wasn't just any old extra but one of the "Brazilians"(pretty good for little ol' me). I was the "Brazilian" in red and black. With Dark hair slicked back off my face. I remember the bit where a woman is singing in the bar( forgive my ignorance, for I don't know the name of the characters promise I will watch it) and she approaches Peter Polycarpou. You can see me next to him looking rather embarresssed ( remember I'm not an actress, just an extra). I also remember thinking she can't sing! (I should talk, I can't sing either...lol!) The main part I remember is storming the "Bridge" with Peter Polycarpou, with my hand on his shoulder. I remember asking him just before hand should I look angry when we storm the "Bridge" he told me just to look proud, which i done to the best of my ability, hehe. But the thing is, I was expecting to see that part on the DVD. So imagine my dismay when I found out its on the next DVD, which might not be released! Anyhow to sum up my time on Jupiter Moon. It was only 3 days work (but it was great walking through those doors at central tv in Birmingham, and having my name down at security for me to go through....yes little ol' me!). Yes I did enjoy it and I remember everyone being really friendly. I also saw a lot of the cast outside their dressing rooms and in corridors practising their lines. It was a great memory but it has taken 16 years for me to see the results of those 3 days work-and I still haven't seen it all! Anyhow hope I haven't bored you all to death....I promise I will watch all the episodes on DVD jupiter 9. Will I pick it up just from these episodes, or do I really need to see it from the beginning? Live long and prosper...sorry thats star trek! All the best Lorraine xx

That is a fantastic story, Lorraine. I'll see what I can do with regard to the rest of your episodes. I'll email you if I can sort something out. Actually, episode 56 features the start of a new plot (those pesky Brazilians again) so you should be able to pick up the story, even though you won't be familiar with the characters. If you enjoyed it please feel free to buy and watch the rest
