Just rewatched Episode 25 with Alys and was surprised to find that Andy Rashleigh (Capt. Creasy) had written it (something I missed first time round). It seems to be his only writing credit for the series, so...
Do we know how he came to be asked to write it and also why it appears he didn't contribute any further on the writing side.
Good episode, by the way, with some nice character stuff for Creasy (unsurprisingly!).

It's an odd one. Rashleigh wrote many episodes of Crossroads (he also played "Chef") and had writing credits on other series too.
The implication on the 31 West interview was that he hoped to have (or indeed had) more involvement in the writing, but as you say it is his only writing credit for the series. Psuedonyms have been known to be used by the way!
I imagine that he may have attended the writing meetings and storyline summits, but his major part in the series probably meant he had little time to actually write any more episodes.
It is a nice episode though - nicely balanced and book-ended. It can almost be viewed as a stand alone episode.

I spotted Rashleigh's name as the writer's credit! And a very nice episode it is too. Perhaps unsurprisingly it contains some very nice character pieces with Creasy. All in all, it worked well as a bit of a shakedown episode following the drama of the plasmaball, and explored Creasy's feelings about Finbow quite neatly.
